Summary of the Job:

Cortron is a privately owned small business, who seeks a skilled engineer to lead its Sales team. The team needs someone who has systems and/or hardware engineering experience.  Cortron has thousands of products, which are customized to satisfy demanding customer needs. Cortron’s products operate in demanding rugged/industrial environments. The job requires someone who can help Cortron engineer solutions by listening to customers and creating product configuring to meet their needs. The challenge requires technical understanding with personal and management communication skills. Our ideal candidate will help coordinate the product lifecycle. Overview of the Job:

Develop, solicit, and close new accounts, generate sales quotations, and handle customer inquiries. Work with members of all departments to coordinate sales activities within the company.  Liaise with customers to manage relationships and contracts.  The Director of Sales and Business Development oversees Customer Service personnel.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and develop existing and new customer relationships through sales quotations, proposals and ethical sales methods.
  • Respond to and follow up on sales inquiries using appropriate methods.
  • Manage customer and internal sales related communications to optimize quality of service, business growth, and customer satisfaction.
  • Facilitate the development of profitable business and sustainable relationships.
  • Work with members of all departments to coordinate sales activities within the company.
  • Write proposals, using company templates and coordinate technical support inquiries by customer/account
  • Attend and present at external and internal meetings, as necessary to perform duties and aid business development.
  • Ensure the timely and accurate processing of customer orders.
  • Work to understand and document customer product and service requirements.
  • Help integrate customer/market requirements into product definition/design.
  • Manage product/service mix, pricing, and margins according to agreed aims.
  • Plan / manage / implement / support marketing activities to agreed budgets and timescales
  • Integrate sales efforts with marketing activities (eg., product launches, promotions, advertising, exhibitions, and telemarketing).
  • Monitor and report on market and competitor activities.
  • Update relevant information held in corporate customer contact tools and systems, including but not limited to CRM, Business Management systems, and Project Task Tracking systems.
  • Recruit, manage, train, and motivate direct reporting staff according to company procedures, policy and employment law.
  • Implement, supervise, and be responsible for customer contact activities involving Sales Department personnel, including but not limited to Sales Order and Returned Material Authorization (RMA) processing.
  • Answer, coordinate, and respond to technical questions as well as product and service issues including Returned Material Authorizations (RMA’s)
  • Act as point of contact between internal and external personnel for new product development, upgrades, and RMA’s
  • Help customers understand how to use Cortron products, and documentation
  • Maintain regular, consistent, and professional attendance, punctuality, personal appearance, and adherence to relevant health, quality & safety procedures.

Skills/Experience:

  • History of delivering to agreed upon schedule/budget
  • History of satisfying demanding customers with custom systems requirements
  • Defense systems sales experience or custom electronics systems engineering/sales experience
  • Collaborative personality
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools and project management
  • Project management background a plus
  • Highly motivated & driven to deliver results that meet & exceed goals
  • Outstanding verbal communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
  • Existing or prior Secret clearance is a plus
  • US Citizenship Required
  • No Relocation
